# Capturing a Transaction

## How to Capture a Transaction

Processing a capture on our portal is simple. Follow these steps to locate the transaction and initiate a capture.

          Eligibility of Capture

          

Captures are only possible of active authorisations.

#### 1. Locate the Transaction

- **Log In to the Portal**: Visit [portal.apcopay.tech](https://portal.apcopay.tech) and log in with your reference, username, and password.
- **Search for the Transaction**: Use the search criteria box at the top to locate the transaction you want to capture.

#### 2. Open the Transaction Details

- **Select the Transaction**: In the search results, click on the transaction you want to capture to open its details.
- **Review Transaction Details**: Verify that the transaction information matches the one you intend to capture.

#### 3. Process the Capture

- **Click "Capture"**: On the transaction details page, locate and click the "Capture" button.
- **Confirm the Capture**: A prompt will appear to confirm the Capture. Confirm to initiate the Capture process.

#### 4. Check Capture Status

After confirming, a new transaction will be generated and visible in the linked transactions. You can view the status of the capture by selecting that transaction.
